Shipping Operator (up $6000 / Vessel / Charter)

As a Shipping Operator, you will work closely with Brokers and be responsible for the operational and administrative management of vessels under fixed charter contracts, including Time Charter, Voyage/Spot Charter, and Contracts of Affreightment (COA). You will liaise daily with international stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of shipping operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and issue Port Arrival Notices (ETA Notices) and Delivery Notices.
  • Verify and follow up on voyage instructions at loading and discharge ports.
  • Monitor vessel voyages and ensure compliance with charter party (CP) terms and contractual obligations.
  • Manage operational issues and resolve problems that may arise during voyages.
  • Handle laytime calculations, claims, disputes, and contract settlements with counterparties.
  • Prepare invoicing and monitor brokerage commission processes.
  • Coordinate with Brokers on COA operations, including laycan schedules, port declarations, cargo nominations, and vessel appointments.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and documentation throughout the voyage lifecycle.

Requirements: 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Shipping Operations, Chartering Operations, Maritime, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Degree in Shipping, Transport, Maritime, or Logistics qualification
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and highly organized.
  • Client-focused and service-oriented mindset.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
