Medical Resident Physician

Responsibilities

• As a Resident Physician, you will provide continuing care for patients transferred from acute hospitals, delivering medical care for sub-acute and rehabilitation patients through regular ward rounds and reviews.
• You will develop and update treatment plans, coordinate with allied health professionals, and plan for patients' eventual discharge back to the community.
• Your role encompasses maintaining medical documentation, responding to medical emergencies, and making decisions about patient transfers when necessary.
• You will play a crucial role in communicating with patients' families and ensuring continuity of care through liaison with primary care providers.
• Working closely with the multidisciplinary team of nurses, allied health professionals and administrators, you will collaborate to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients.

Requirements

• Possess a basic medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a university recognised by the Singapore Medical Council (SMC)
• Have completed housemanship / internship with satisfactory assessment
• Completion of the MRCP (UK) examinations will be a plus.
• Demonstrated clinical competence in managing inpatient medical cases
• Ability to conduct independent patient assessments, formulate treatment plans, and perform regular clinical reviews
• Competent in medical documentation and adherence to clinical governance standards
• Able to participate in on-call duties and respond to medical emergencies as required
• Ability to collaborate with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and administrators to deliver holistic patient care
