ROLE PURPOSE

To effectively develop the team to enable a safe, world class operation by owning the technical reliability and mechanical performance of the shop floor, and lead operations on the factory floor that deliver continuous profitable growth to delighted customers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and monitor site-wide Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align directly with business goals, ensuring the production floor delivers against Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery targets.
  • Analysis and sharing of daily, weekly, and monthly trends, enabling the shift from reactive problem-solving to proactive planning and prevention.
  • Champion a culture where structured problem-solving and 5S principles shape daily operations and how we work.
  • Role-model and embed Global EHS, Quality, and GMP standards so they become intrinsic to how work is performed across the factory.
  • Support the development of a training roadmap that ensures our team can operate safely, be adaptable, and ready to support future growth.
  • Provide operational continuity and leadership coverage during the General Manager’s planned absences.
  • Ensuring quality control through odour and analytical testing of fragrances and raw materials using GC and I.R. technologies.
  • Ensure new perfume formulations have accurate technical specifications and flashpoints recorded within the ERP system.
  • Maintain the accuracy, traceability, and organisation of all quality data and reference materials within IFS and related systems.
  • Act decisively when non-conforming materials arise, leading investigations that uncover root causes and ensure long-term corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain documentation and processes aligned with ISO 9001 and Halal manufacturing requirements, ensuring readiness for audits and long-term compliance.
  • Work closely with the UK Purchasing team, providing on-the-ground insights that strengthen global procurement strategies.
  • Build Good relationships with local vendors to ensure continuous availability of essential consumables and prevent disruptions to production.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related Science discipline.
  • Technical: Minimum 5+ years in a role involved with Quality Management or Operational Excellence, ideally within a chemical or related manufacturing environment industry.
  • Proven ability to use ERP systems (e.g., IFS) to track and trend quality data.
  • Good to have: Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Quality Management Systems (QMS) Lead Auditor, Halal Assurance System (HAS), Hazardous Substance Management.
  • Methodology: Good grasp of Lean/Continuous Improvement tools; ability to present operational data to executive-level stakeholders (Singapore and UK).
