Key Responsibilities
- Operate and perform various stages of chemical manufacturing processes in accordance with established work instructions, quality requirements, and safety standards.
- Conduct batch processing activities within a semi-automated and partially manual production environment.
- Handle raw materials and finished products, including manual lifting of materials weighing up to 20kg.
- Operate forklifts, stackers, and other material handling equipment where required.
- Monitor production processes and equipment performance to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Assist the Production Supervisor in troubleshooting process deviations, equipment issues, and quality-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Comply with all environmental, health, and safety regulations and company policies.
- Participate in Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities and take appropriate action during emergency situations following training.
Key Requirements
- NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge or experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) would be advantageous.
- Possession of a valid forklift driving licence.
- Comfortable working in a production environment involving batch processing and manual material handling.
- Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
- Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn and develop within a chemical manufacturing environment.
