About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support and drive a Safety-First culture across our site. Reporting to the EHS Manager, the successful candidate will partner closely with functional teams and site leadership to ensure compliance with workplace safety, health, environmental, and fire safety requirements while continuously improving EHS performance. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion safety culture by promoting EHS awareness and best practices across the organization.

  • Partner with employees and management teams to identify, address, and resolve workplace safety concerns.

  • Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Analyze safety, accident, and environmental data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

  • Participate in Gemba walks and workplace inspections to identify hazards and drive corrective actions.

  • Perform periodic EHS audits and assessments to ensure regulatory compliance and closure of identified gaps.

  • Lead and facilitate Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), and ergonomic assessments.

  • Maintain EHS records, databases, and legal documentation, ensuring timely reporting and compliance.

  • Support project teams to ensure EHS requirements and standards are incorporated into new projects and operational changes.

  • Drive EHS improvement initiatives aligned with global, regional, and site-level objectives.

  • Maintain and update hazard and risk registers.

  • Review contractors' and service providers' Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and risk assessments.

  • Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.

  • Conduct inspections of emergency response and life-saving equipment.

  • Support business continuity planning activities and emergency preparedness exercises.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable workplace safety, environmental, and fire safety regulations. 

 

Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.

  • Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).

  • Registered Fire Safety Manager (FSM).

 

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) role.

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, life sciences, manufacturing, or highly regulated environment

  • Knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and incident investigation skills.

  • Organizational and project management capabilities.

  • Effective communication, presentation, and training delivery skills.

  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and hazard management processes.

  • Knowledge of emergency response planning and business continuity management.

  • Team-oriented with the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.

Additional Information: 

  • 12 months contract
  • Location: Joo Koon 
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5.15pm 
  • Interviews: 2 rounds 
  • Salary: $5000 - $5400
