Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the formulation and review of policies and regulatory measures addressing scam calls, messages, and other network-based threats across infocomm and internet channels.
- Collaborate with government agencies and industry stakeholders to support the effective implementation of anti-scam mitigation measures.
- Support strategies to engage international regulators and partners, and facilitate cross-border cooperation to address scam activities at source.
- Conduct horizon scanning on emerging anti-scam technologies, network defence mechanisms, and global regulatory developments; assess their implications on IMDA’s regulatory and market policies.
- Provide policy advisory support to internal business units on existing policy positions and emerging areas within the telecoms and media sectors related to scam prevention and network security.
- Organise, coordinate, and provide secretariat support for inter-agency workgroups, industry forums, and stakeholder meetings.
Requirements
- Academic background in Computer Science, Social Sciences, Mass Communications, Legal Studies, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in operations policy, technology policy, or related roles in the public or private sector.
- Demonstrated interest in scam prevention and a good understanding of telecommunications operators and internet service provider operations.
- Good analytical, communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
- Experience in public policy development, horizon scanning, or strategic futures work will be advantageous.
- Appointment level (Assistant Manager / Manager) will be commensurate with relevant experience.
