Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all engineering, design coordination, and technical management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop, review, and implement construction methodologies, engineering strategies, temporary works solutions, and buildability initiatives.
- Drive multidisciplinary coordination among clients, consultants, authorities, subcontractors, and internal project teams to resolve technical and design issues efficiently.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering, construction, BIM, and site-based teams.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, technical submissions, method statements, shop drawings, and related construction documentation.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, project specifications, statutory regulations, and quality standards.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate engineering and construction risks while implementing practical technical solutions.
- Monitor design development and construction progress, ensuring timely resolution of engineering matters that may impact schedule, cost, or quality.
- Support tendering, value engineering, and design optimisation initiatives to enhance project performance and constructability.
- Collaborate with project leadership teams on construction sequencing, technical planning, commissioning activities, and project closeout.
- Drive innovation through the adoption of digital construction tools, BIM technologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide regular technical updates and recommendations to senior management and project stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience leading engineering and technical functions within the building and construction industry.
- Proven track record managing complex projects across sectors such as healthcare, commercial, mixed-use, industrial, logistics, research, or residential developments.
- Understanding of construction methodologies, design coordination, buildability reviews, and project delivery processes.
- Experience working with consultants, authorities, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Sound knowledge of statutory requirements, engineering standards, quality management systems, and construction best practices.
- Leadership, stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with BIM, digital construction tools, and modern engineering technologies is highly advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide strategic technical direction in a fast-paced project environment.
