We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee regulatory compliance, government relations, public affairs, and corporate governance across Singapore and Southeast Asia. This role serves as the primary liaison with regulators, government agencies, and industry stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance while strengthening the organisation's reputation and strategic positioning within the payments and financial services sector.
Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Lead engagement with regulators, including the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and ensure compliance with licensing, reporting, and regulatory obligations.
- Develop, implement, and enhance AML/CFT frameworks, compliance programmes, and risk management controls for payment services and cross-border payment activities.
- Monitor regulatory developments and provide strategic guidance to senior management on compliance and business implications.
- Oversee compliance reviews, audits, risk assessments, and regulatory examinations across the region.
- Foster a strong compliance culture through training, awareness initiatives, and stakeholder engagement.
Government Relations & Public Affairs
- Develop and execute government relations and public affairs strategies to support business growth and corporate objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, government agencies, industry associations, and key external stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation in regulatory discussions, industry forums, working groups, and stakeholder engagements.
- Support senior leadership on policy matters, regulatory consultations, and strategic communications.
Corporate Communications & Governance
- Oversee corporate communications and reputation management initiatives.
- Review and approve external communications, policy submissions, and corporate correspondence to ensure consistency and regulatory alignment.
- Support governance initiatives and promote best practices across the organisation.
Requirements
- Degree in Law, Finance, Business, Public Policy, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, government relations, public affairs, legal, or related functions within Payments, FinTech, Banking, or Financial Services.
- Well verse in Singapore Payment Services Act, AML/CFT regulations, and the broader financial regulatory landscape.
- Proven experience engaging with MAS and managing regulatory relationships.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
