About the Job

1. Plant Operations & Technical Maintenance

  • System Troubleshooting: Operate, maintain, and repair critical building machinery, including HVAC, Chillers, VAVs, pumps, temperature controls, and building automation systems (BAS).
  • Preventative Care: Execute capital and equipment preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
  • Validation & Testing: Contribute to the required testing and validation of site equipment.
  • General Upkeep: Perform general facility tasks including painting, wall repairs, and reconfiguring office or laboratory furniture.
  • General Repairs: Perform hands-on repairs on plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, lighting systems, doors, and drywall.

2. HSE&F Compliance & Emergency Response

  • Safety Audits: Execute Health, Safety, Environmental, and Facilities (HSE&F) programs, including fire extinguisher checks and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Compliance & Safety: Enforce workplace safety codes, document daily maintenance logs, and ensure the facility passes all health and safety audits.

3. Site Administration & Contractor Coordination

  • Project Documentation: Author Statements of Work (SoW) for facility projects and fill out MoC forms for onsite modifications.
  • Contractor Management: Collaborate with third-party contractors to schedule, coordinate, and supervise onsite activities.
  • Financial Tracking: Verify and receipt incoming goods and services to ensure accurate accounting and expenditure tracking.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain precise maintenance records and report critical issues directly to the Facilities Manager.
  • Vendor Management: Supervise and escort external contractors for major overhauls or specialized projects, ensuring work meets safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum NITEC, Higher NITEC, or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Facilities Management.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in commercial, retail or industrial building maintenance.
  • Good troubleshooting abilities, proficiency in reading technical schematics, and a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Any certifications like a Fire Safety Manager (FSM) or Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) certification are major advantages.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights, lifting heavy equipment and potentially standing for extended periods.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Good knowledge of maintenance procedures and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team plus be on call for afterhours/weekends/holidays as needed.
