The P-TECH Industry Liaison Coordinator, located in Singapore, is responsible for the overall coordination and execution of the P-TECH partnership comprising four high schools together with tertiary and industry partner. This is a highly visible role responsible for day-to-day collaboration between the partners and other key P-TECH stakeholders to ensure long-term commitments and goals. The role requires a motivated self-starter who is skilled in stakeholder management and can move between education and corporate spheres with ease.
The role reports to the Corporate Social Responsibility Lead based in Singapore.

SUMMARY:

  • Mobile work at client offices and educational institutions (ITE/Poly)
  • Build and manage positive relationships with key P-TECH partners and stakeholders including staff, students and parents, local and global staff, local education/employment/community organizations and government
  • Provide project management for employer-specific projects at partner education institutions including workplace learning, mentoring and internships
  • Collaborate with P-TECH partners and stakeholders to review and revise the skills map annually
  • Research and develop best practices in workplace learning curricular models
  • Research and develop best practices in mentoring program models
  • Continually develop industry-vetted skills map and workplace competencies
  • Develop work practices and systems that enable sustainable engagement between the school and industry
  • Engage in professional growth and development opportunities to keep abreast of current and emerging careers in a rapidly changing workplace
  • Act as point-of-contact and initiator for collaborative efforts involving all P-TECH stakeholders and the P-TECH school staff, students and parents, and other interested parties around employer commitments



PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively with partners to develop innovative workplace learning curriculum
    • Collaborate with the PTECH school's Workplace Learning strand to create projectbased learning opportunities and workplace experiences that address workplace competencies and technical skills
    • Facilitate speakers for classroom projects and schoolwide events as needed
    • Work with partner high school staff to implement an industry validated assessment tool for workplace competencies and technical skills
  • Manage mentoring program
    • Recruit and train employee mentors from industry partners
    • Develop curriculum in collaboration with educational institution staff to facilitate meaningful conversations between students and mentors that support workplace learning
  • Coordinate on-site workplace learning experiences at the company facilities
    • Plan engaging onsite visits for students that provide insight into the workplace and jobs that students are working toward and align with what students are learning in school
    • Recruit volunteers as needed
  • Create professional development opportunities for teachers (where relevant/ necessary)
    • Pair teachers with industry professionals (in appropriate specialty/content area) for job shadowing as required
    • Coordinate ongoing professional development experiences for the PTECH staff (i.e. attending meetings, conferences, and presentations on industryspecific skills)
  • Manage the internship program for P-TECH students
    • Identify relevant, substantive, and potentially creditbearing projects for students working with school and industry
    • Work collaboratively with partner educational institution staff to create an internshipready assessment that will help determine which students are ready for internship opportunities
    • Coordinate schedules and work spaces (i.e. which days students will work, where they will sit, which meetings they can attend)
    • Develop a formal evaluation with managers, mentors, and teachers (i.e. presentation, written reflection, etc.) to culminate each student's internship experience


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree
  • Two years teaching experience in a Singapore educational institution (or equivalent)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Solution-focused approach
  • Strong stakeholder management experience and skills
  • Adaptable, resourceful, strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated mastery of relevant technological capacities
