Our Client is a large pharmaceutical company headquartered in the United States, located in Buona Vista. Due to current expansion, they have immediate position for;

Scientist, Biomarker Operations
(This is a renewable contract position)

Job Purpose:


As a Scientist in Translational Biomarkers, you will work closely with your colleagues to support the execution of Translational Oncology clinical studies. In this role, you will be responsible for biomarker operations and the sample management process to support the deployment of molecular biomarker assays using samples obtained from or derived from patients, with the goal of obtaining actionable insights for target and biomarker validation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on support in the laboratory for the execution of Translational Oncology clinical studies, including but not limited to, sample logistics, sample management, sample processing, and assay operations.

  • Responsible for hands-on execution of operational activities related to the lifecycle management of biomarker samples, including sample tracking, sample shipment, sample receipt and disposal, sample storage, and inventory management.

  • Provide technical input and assist in the development of biomarker workplans.

  • Contribute to authoring and/or reviewing sample management system, laboratory SOPs and procedure manuals.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and interface with external parties (e.g., vendors, clinical sites, academic collaborators) to support the execution of Translational Oncology studies.

  • Accurately document experiments and results in electronic notebooks and/or other required formats in compliance with company policies and project needs.

  • Identify areas of improvement in existing workflows and leverage the effective use of resources to support operational efficiency.

Requirement;


BSc/MSc with more than three years of relevant research experience, preferably in a clinical research setting, a clinical/diagnostic laboratory, or pharmaceutical/biotech R&D

  • Relevant hands-on experience in clinical sample processing, sample preparation and basic knowledge of bioanalytical methods.

  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) will be ideal.

  • Previous experience with laboratory techniques, such as molecular biology, cell culture, cell-based assays, in vitro assays would be a plus.

  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Great interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
