Senior Operations First Line Supervisor (Gas Testing/ Work Permit/ Petrochemical/ Contract)

 

Location: Jurong Island

Working Hours: 60 per week

6 day work week

 

Job purpose

  • Conducting gas testing and issuing work permits.
  • Carry out joint work site to verify field equipment/piping with contractors to verify its conditions and site environment as part of permit issuing process.
  • Perform check on contractor work method statement, JSA and other supporting documents for the particular work permits.
  • Throughout the permit validity period, the incumbent will check on the contractor work site for compliance to work permit requirements and site safety standards and regulatory requirements to ensure that work is carried safely as required.
  • Work with contractor closely to plan and schedule the field jobs.
  • Supervise younger process technicians as needed for gas testing and permit issuing.
  • Working with professional organizations (CTCC) to assess training needs and deliver training programs for all staff.
  • Other assigned roles by immediate supervisor to support a safe and successful turnover, commissioning and start up.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervises personnel, may include coordination of contractors, to deliver safe, reliable and profitable operations in assigned operating units (fields, plants, manufacturing, terminaling, pipelines, warehousing, offices, etc.).
  • Demonstrates applicable Operations and Maintenance skills appropriate to job position. Demonstrates leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups.
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities in the production facility.
  • Maintains a safe and productive workplace through established standards/procedures.
  • Manages and directs the work of others.
  • Accomplishes production facility human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining workers.
  • Meets operational standards by contributing production information to strategic plans and reviews, resolving problems, and identifying system improvements.
  • Works with moderate work direction and is skilled and knowledgeable to the position.
  • On site supervision and coaching of the production team.
  • Participation in the selection of national and expatriate (staff and Agency) technicians for the Team.
  • Build effective networks across the sites Offshore and Onshore to ensure consistent and cooperative approach for exports.
  • Responding to plant upsets and emergency situations in a calm and controlled manner and be able to use and update procedures based on your experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with the expat staff, able to recognize the potential for cultural and behavioral differences.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • More than 10 years of experience in a production discipline
  • SSHE management - operations and maintenance, managing critical operations, operations - specific technology and unit or are, console knowledge - general and specific unit, process planning and mechanical coordination, operations planning/improvement, managing critical maintenance activities, maintenance scheduling, maintenance management
  • Broad knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
  • Ability to manage overall production priorities by complying with OMS, reducing backlog and optimization of resources and workload.
  • Willingness to challenge the norm, and promote new ideas and solutions in the Caspian operating region.
  • Open and flexible attitude with a commitment to teamwork
  • The ability to work across traditional discipline and cultural boundaries.
  • Effective communication, courage of conviction, sound decision-making, risk management
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
  • Proven coaching skills with a track record of coaching and developing technicians.
  • Ability to identify Plant Integrity issues and lead CI Teams to resolution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering within discipline or equivalent professional experience
