Position title: Senior/HR Generalist

Responsibilities: A senior-level position in HR. The employee can handle multiple responsibilities and works independently. Primary focus will be recruitment and HRG support for the client Japan operations

• Support and partner with the Japan Management team for the expansion of client Japan operations
• Oversee recruitment process for assigned areas, which includes sourcing, interviewing candidates, conducting reference checks, preparing correspondence, developing, and maintaining relationships with employment agencies, universities, and other recruitment sources.
• Coordinate employment offer process, which includes researching and presenting recommendations to managers, obtaining approvals, and ultimately extending offers to candidates.
• Advise management and employees on interpretation of policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Assist managers and HR Managers with addressing performance issues/concerns, when deemed appropriate.
• Work with outside immigration counsel, in-house legal counsel, and/or HR Manager as part of work authorization process; and
• Provide guidance and training to assistant-level HR staff

Requirements:

• Able to read and write in Japanese (min. JLPT N1) to analyse information in Japanese and provide relevant search term suggestions
• Experience in recruitment for Japan will be a significant advantage
• Preferred: At least 1-2 years of experience in campus recruitment/events space and ability to build University relations and early talent pipeline
• Bachelor's degree and 5 - 6 years' experience in HR or Master's degree and 4 - 5 years' experience in HR;
