Senior Business Analyst – Role Scope & Responsibilities

 

  1. Strategic Ownership & Solution Leadership
  • Own the end-to-end business analysis and solution lifecycle from ideation through delivery and post-implementation optimization.
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior business leaders, translating enterprise goals into coherent capability roadmaps and solution directions.
  • Provide thought leadership on digital enablement, platform consolidation, automation, and customer experience transformation.

 

  1. Advanced Business & Impact Analysis
  • Lead complex, ambiguous problem spaces involving multiple systems, stakeholders, and constraints.
  • Perform deep impact analysis across processes, data, integrations, risks, compliance, and operating models.
  • Define success metrics, KPIs, and value realization plans to ensure outcomes are measurable and tracked.

 

  1. Solution Shaping & Architecture Alignment
  • Co-own solution design with enterprise and solution architects, ensuring:
    • Scalability, resilience, security, and compliance
    • Alignment with enterprise standards and long-term roadmaps
  • Evaluate solution options (SaaS, COTS, custom build, integrations) and make clear, defensible recommendations.
  • Identify and manage trade-offs between business value, cost, speed, and technical debt.

 

  1. Requirements Excellence & Governance
  • Set the gold standard for requirements quality, structure, and traceability.
  • Govern epics, features, user stories, and non-functional requirements across initiatives.
  • Own change impact assessments, prioritization decisions, and scope governance.

 

  1. Process Transformation & Optimization
  • Lead end-to-end process re-engineering initiatives, identifying opportunities for automation, digitization, and simplification.
  • Design future-state operating models that improve:
    • Customer experience
    • Operational efficiency
    • Data quality and insight
  • Champion continuous improvement and reuse of best practices.

 

  1. Delivery, Quality & Risk Ownership
  • Provide ongoing support to delivery teams throughout the SDLC, proactively resolving ambiguity and risks.
  • Define and oversee SIT and UAT strategies, ensuring solutions meet business intent and risk tolerance.
  • Support cutover, go-live readiness, and post-implementation reviews.

 

  1. Stakeholder Leadership & Practice Development
  • Lead senior stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and expectation management
  • Serve as escalation point for complex business or solution issues.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level Business Analysts, shaping:
    • Analysis frameworks
    • Templates and standards
    • Capability uplift across the BA practice

 

Experience & Background

 

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Business Analysis / Solution Analysis roles.
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale, enterprise or platform-based initiatives.
  • Experience working across digital, loyalty, CRM, customer platforms, data, or integration-heavy environments is highly desirable.
