Job Summary:

  • Play a key role in supporting material planning activities, with a primary focus on Material Change Management (MCM) and New Material Introduction (NMI). This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure seamless material transitions and introductions.

 

Responsibilities:

Material Change Management (MCM)

  • Coordinate and manage end-to-end material change processes, ensuring all changes are assessed, documented, and implemented in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with Quality, Regulatory, and Procurement teams to evaluate the impact of material changes on production schedules, inventory levels, and supply continuity.
  • Maintain and update change control documentation, ensuring timely closure of change requests in the relevant systems (e.g., SAP, ERP).
  • Monitor and track the phase-in/phase-out of materials to minimize obsolescence and avoid supply disruptions.
  • Communicate change timelines and impacts to relevant stakeholders, escalating risks as appropriate.

 

New Material Introduction (NMI)

  • Lead the operational coordination of new material introductions from supplier qualification through to first production use.
  • Work with Procurement and Suppliers to ensure timely availability of new materials, including sample management and initial stock build-up.
  • Set up new material master data in SAP/ERP systems, including planning parameters, safety stock levels, and reorder points.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance for material approval and release processes prior to first use.
  • Develop and maintain NMI trackers and dashboards to provide visibility on project status and timelines.

 

Material Planning Support

  • Support day-to-day material planning activities including demand and supply analysis, inventory management, and replenishment planning.
  • Identify and resolve material shortages or excess inventory situations, proposing corrective actions.
  • Generate and analyze planning reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support internal and external audits by providing relevant material planning documentation and data.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects within the Supply Chain function.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in supply chain, material planning, or operations in a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in SAP (MM/PP modules) or equivalent ERP system and excellent Excel skills
  • Understanding of GMP/GDP requirements and change control processes
