Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and scale ingredients according to recipes and production schedules
- Mix, knead, ferment, shape, and bake various types of bread and artisanal loaves
- Produce a range of pastries including cakes, tarts, puff pastries, and desserts
- Decorate pastries with professional finishing techniques (piping, glazing, garnishing)
- Operate bakery equipment such as mixers, sheeters, ovens, and proofers
- Maintain product quality, consistency, taste, texture, and appearance
- Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist in creating new bakery and pastry products
Requirements
- Prior experience as a baker or pastry cook
- Interest in bread and pastry craftsmanship
- Ability to work shift schedules
- Good teamwork skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Keen attention to detail, quality, and presentation
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
