Global SAP Key User - SD, FICO

Job Summary:

 

We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Global SAP Key User to support our Sales and Distribution (and mid-term also Finance) organizations worldwide. This role operates in a complex, globally integrated SAP landscape with customized, company-specific processes and requires a deep understanding of end-to-end business flows across modules.

 

This position is not a plug-and-play role. While the position includes a three-month-probationary period, due to the complexity of our structures, internal regulations, and historical process setups, a substantial onboarding and implementation phase of approximately six months is expected before the role holder can operate independently and provide full value to the organization. During this time, you will systematically build in-depth knowledge of our systems, processes, and internal governance framework.

 

The successful candidate is someone who is motivated to take ownership, is comfortable working in evolving and imperfect structures, and is willing to actively document, stabilize, simplify and further develop existing processes, rather than relying on standard SAP templates.

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Act as a global expert contact for primarily SAP SD, and later also FI and CO topics, providing advanced support, analysis, and resolution of complex business and system issues.
• Navigate and understand highly customized, company-specific SAP processes and translate them into sustainable solutions for global business stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary interface between business users and IT, ensuring that requirements are clearly understood, documented, and implemented in line with internal governance and control frameworks.
• Maintain and safeguard critical master data across SD and FI/CO, ensuring data integrity, auditability, and compliance with internal rules, not just SAP technical correctness.
• Analyze existing business processes, identify weaknesses or inconsistencies, and actively contribute to their documentation, stabilization, and improvement.
• Provide structured user support and training, taking into account varying maturity levels across regions and business units.
• Create and maintain clear, high-quality process documentation, user guidelines, and decision logs, ensuring transparency and long-term knowledge retention.
• Participate in testing cycles, enhancements, and global rollout initiatives, with a focus on operational robustness and user adoption rather than theoretical design.
• Continuously build and maintain deep expertise in SAP SD, FI, and CO, as well as in our internal rules, interfaces, and cross-system dependencies

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience as an SAP Key User, Business Process Owner, Process Specialist or comparable role covering SD and/or FI/CO.
• Proven experience with complex, non-standard SAP process landscapes rather than greenfield or template-driven implementations.
• Deep understanding of end-to-end business processes across Sales, Finance, and Controlling.
• Good analytical skills with the ability to trace issues across modules, organizational units, and systems.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex SAP matters to non-technical stakeholders.
• High level of persistence, structure, and discipline in documentation and process clarification.
• Ability to operate independently in a global, matrix-driven organization.

 

Nice to Have

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and Fiori.
• SAP SD and/or FI/CO certifications.
• Experience in documenting and stabilizing historically grown processes.
