Job Responsibilities
As an Operations Excellence Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational performance across the value stream, ensuring efficient resource utilization, on-time delivery, quality excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Value Stream and Distribution Centre leadership teams to achieve delivery, quality, and operational performance targets through Lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
- Coordinate and mobilize resources across multiple teams involved in repair and overhaul operations to ensure seamless workflow execution.
- Champion Lean, Six Sigma, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), ergonomics, and operational excellence initiatives while ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
- Drive performance in areas such as cost management, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), working capital optimization, and delivery execution.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives using corrective action systems, 8D methodology, Lean Sigma tools, and root cause analysis to improve quality and prevent recurrence of issues.
- Provide technical and operational leadership to direct reports and workshop personnel, ensuring compliance with quality requirements and industry regulations.
- Analyze operational challenges, assess risks, and develop effective action plans to support business objectives.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and change management across the organization.
- Ensure implementation of HSE prevention programs and promote employee engagement in safety and improvement initiatives.
- Develop, coach, mentor, and empower team members to build a high-performing and collaborative workforce.
- Balance operational, customer, employee, and financial priorities while maintaining business performance.
- Build cross-functional relationships, remove operational barriers, and facilitate collaboration across departments.
- Demonstrate hands-on leadership and lead by example to achieve operational goals.
- Develop strategic plans to anticipate future business needs, risks, and opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels and drive alignment on business priorities.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of people management experience within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, aerospace, or related environment.
- Prior experience in industrial operations, production management, MRO, or similar operational environments will be advantageous.
- Understanding of MRO operations, customer requirements, and commercial drivers.
- Proven experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma tools, and continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable results.
- Business acumen with the ability to balance operational performance and financial objectives.
- Experience leading root cause analysis, corrective action programs, and quality improvement projects.
