Content Licensing Clearance Executive (Business Affairs) (Proficient in Bahasa Indonesia / Buona Vista / Contract

 

Summary

A highly collaborative attitude and keep communication flowing efficiently to ensure rights are secured and processes are being followed with regards to licensing, production, clearance, etc.

You will liaise with Producers, Brand Managers and Creatives to understand what the deliverables are, and how the content will be used, in order to negotiate appropriate usage rights.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • This role supports the work of Marcom Southeast Asia (SEA), and is embedded with the Global Marketing Business Affairs group.
  • Partner with a variety of internal Marketing, Services, Legal, Business, and Product stakeholders.
  • Review marketing and advertising materials with internal teams to identify intellectual property, flag issues, and propose the appropriate course of action.
  • Work with a variety of internal and third-party entities (Application developers, Music labels, Entertainment companies, etc) to secure consent and clear rights when featuring their intellectual property in marketing and advertising.
  • Facilitate communication between multiple stakeholders across the organization, providing strategic options to internal teams, and liaising with Legal as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with team leads to ensure information flows properly, action items are clear, and issues are escalated at the right time to the right people.
  • Responsible for maintaining detailed documentation and trackers around clearances and licenses
  • Regularly communicate both verbally and in writing in Bahasa Indonesia with non-English speaking colleagues in Indonesia to help execute on important strategic initiatives / drive operational process efficiency. 

 

Key Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience on business affairs, or content licensing team at a creative agency, marketing organization, content production company, or within the entertainment industry.
  • Business-level verbal and written fluency in both Indonesian Bahasa and English language.  Able to communicate (written & spoken) in fluent Bahasa Indonesia (business language proficiency level required (unggul/Sangat Unggul/Istemewa grade) in UKBI or equivalent certifications) as the incumbent is expected to communicate both verbally and in writing with non-English speaking colleagues in Indonesia. 
  • Deep subject matter expertise and practical experience negotiating rights, analyzing risk, and developing processes regarding intellectual property licensing/clearances for marketing and advertising use.
  • Interest in, and knowledge of current popular culture, trends, and content, (i.e. music, movies, TV shows, animation, theatre, local fashion brands, and local celebrities).
  • Expertise in identifying potential legal and cultural issues in Indonesia and region for marketing purposes. This includes a working knowledge of consumer-facing content (advertising, social media, UGC, consumer digital experiences, entertainment and editorial) and associated risks.
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Proactive contributor who can work independently, and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated skills in core areas: concise and clear written and verbal communication, attention to detail, sound judgment, innovative approach to problem-solving.

  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle assignments requires considerable judgment and initiative.
  • Ability to travel, if needed.

 

Education & Experience

Bachelors Degree required.
