Senior Presales Engineer (Observability & Enterprise Networking/Permanent)

About the Job

We are looking for a customer-facing Senior Solutions Engineer who can own complex technical engagements across ASEAN, from discovery and architecture through Proof of Value (PoV), tender solutioning, technical validation, and closure. This is a hands-on presales leadership role for someone who combines deep technical judgment, solid communication skills, commercial acumen, and end-to-end ownership due to business expansion.

1) Customer & Technical Engagement

• Lead high-level technical discovery, architecture discussions, and workshops with enterprise customers and partners.
• Work closely with customers to understand business goals, operational pain points, architectural constraints, and success criteria.
• Translate customer requirements into clear solution designs and effectively communicate regional requirements, design rationale, and risks to HQ.
• Present complex technical concepts confidently to senior stakeholders across Network, Infrastructure, Architecture, IT Operations, and Observability teams.

2) Presales, PoV & Tender Solutioning

• Own the technical lifecycle from discovery → solution architecture → positioning → PoV → validation → technical closure.
• Design and lead PoC/PoV engagements, including scope, architecture, test plans, success criteria, stakeholder alignment, and technical acceptance.
• Lead technical solutioning for tenders, RFPs, and RFIs, including architecture design, sizing, technical proposals, compliance responses, and solution positioning.
• Address technical objections and competitive discussions, guiding customers toward solutions that best meet operational and business objectives.

3) End-to-End Delivery Design & Success

• Remain involved beyond the presales stage where required to ensure continuity from proposed architecture into delivery.
• Produce and govern High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) deliverables, ensuring presales commitments are executable.
• Maintain end-to-end visibility of PoV and delivery progress, proactively identifying and resolving risks, dependencies, and gaps.
• Ensure delivered technical outcomes align with customer expectations and support successful adoption.

4) Localisation, Partner Enablement & Regional Capability

• Localize and refine technical documents, proposals, and solution materials to ensure relevance and credibility in local markets.
• Lead technical workshops with partners and strengthen partner readiness for the company's solutions.
• Coach local technical teams and share reusable architectures, PoV methodologies, and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with sales, delivery, and HQ technical/product teams while progressively reducing dependency on HQ for routine customer engagements.

5) Commercially Viable Technical Solutioning

• Balance technical excellence with commercial practicality by designing solutions that are scalable, supportable, and commercially viable.
• Partner with sales teams on solution scope, sizing, trade-offs, and technical strategy to improve win rates and delivery success.
• Apply experience from previous engagements to assess how architecture decisions impact implementation effort, cost, risk, and customer value.

Requirements

• 7-12 years of relevant experience in presales, solution engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise technical consulting.
• Solid communication skills with the ability to build trusted customer relationships and communicate technical decisions effectively to HQ.
• Proven experience independently leading customer workshops, technical discovery sessions, PoC/PoV engagements, tender/RFP solutioning, and technical closure activities.
• Solid technical foundation across several of the following areas:
  • Enterprise networking and network architecture
  • NPM/NPMD
  • APM
  • Observability and AIOps
  • Infrastructure monitoring
  • Packet-based analysis
  • Data centre environments
  • Hybrid and cloud infrastructure
• Experience within banking, financial services, telecommunications, government, or large enterprise environments is advantageous.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability platforms is advantageous.
• Ability to develop and govern solution architecture, HLD/LLD documentation, sizing, technical proposals, and implementation approaches.
• Solid commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer outcomes, technical feasibility, implementation risk, and commercial objectives.
• Able to work independently across multiple strategic opportunities while collaborating effectively with sales, delivery, partners, and HQ teams.
