About the Role

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Dynamic Positioning team, supporting the delivery, installation, and commissioning of advanced Dynamic Positioning software systems for vessels worldwide. This role offers a unique mix of office-based engineering work and overseas vessel assignments, providing valuable hands-on experience in a highly specialized maritime sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, test, and commission Dynamic Positioning software systems onboard vessels.
  • Support system installation, integration, and commissioning activities, including Customer Acceptance Tests (CAT).
  • Conduct worldwide vessel commissioning projects, with approximately 120 days of international travel annually.
  • Perform software engineering and project preparation activities from the office.
  • Prepare and execute Internal Acceptance Tests (IAT), Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and related verification activities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, procedures, and commissioning reports.
  • Collaborate closely with customers, project teams, and technical specialists to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Serve as the key technical liaison between customers and headquarters throughout project execution, commissioning, maintenance, and operational support.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help drive innovation in marine automation and positioning technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in:
    • Cybernetics
    • Control Engineering
    • Marine Technology
    • Electronics Engineering
    • Instrumentation Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Or related disciplines
  • Candidates with a Diploma qualification are encouraged to apply if they possess:
    • At least 5 years of experience in the Navy; or
    • At least 3 years of experience in the shipbuilding or maritime industry.
  • Knowledge of C/C++ programming is highly desirable.
  • Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable traveling internationally and working onboard vessels.
