Purpose and Scope
The role is responsible for accounting duties including internal management reporting and regulatory reporting for the MAS (Singapore).
Duties and Activities
Daily Basis:
- Liaise with other departments/companies / service providers (including corporate services providers, fund administrator, investor services) to obtain information as required.
- Ensure proper approvals are obtained for all expenditures before any payments are made.
- Review all invoices and expense reimbursements made by the company to ensure GST is identified for GST return purposes.
- Thoroughly review of all contracts to ensure that proper accounting is done.
Monthly Basis:
- Prepare monthly financial reports for senior management, including analysis of expenditures and revenue fluctuations and calculation of regulatory capital.
- Cash forecast and budget cash flow.
- Analyse costs incurred to ensure that costs are properly allocated to the company or allocate to another company affiliate or investment funds.
- Analyse services performed by the Singapore company and adhere to transfer pricing policies, including the preparing of invoices for services rendered for company affiliates.
Quarterly Basis:
- Prepare the GST return
- Prepare the quarterly MAS submissions, including but not limited to:
- Foreign currency revaluation from USD to SGD for MAS reporting.
- Form 1 - Statement of Assets and Liabilities,
- Form 2 - Statement of Financial Resources, Total Risk Requirement and Aggregate Indebtedness,
- Quarterly Income & Expenditure Statement of Compilation of Value-Added of Financial Sector.
- Prepare placement fee calculation and reports and interaction with marketing firms/ placement agents.
- Perform management fee rebate calculations and reports.
Annual Basis:
- Prepare annual audit working papers.
- Assist for the completion of the Financial Statement audits.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- Degree in Accounting/ Finance with minimum six years relevant experience
- Sound understanding of fundamental financial principles and IFRS
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) Concur and Kyriba system, good to have but not necessary.
- Good Communication skills.
- Willingness to take on new responsibilities and challenges.
- Proven organizational skills; able to cope with changing client needs and deliver successful results within agreed upon timeframes. ?
- Possess ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle numerous ad hoc responsibilities and prioritize effectively. ?
- Detail oriented; able to resolve problems using facts and sound reasoning. ?
- Self-motivated, professional and flexible; able to work both independently and as a part of a team. ?
