Automation Engineer (Pharma/ Siemens/ PLC Scada)

Our Client is a US MNC and a pioneering leader in the Pharmaceutical industry. They are currently seeking experienced and forward-thinking professionals to join their IT Team in Singapore
Job Purpose
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems within our pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
- Pivotal in ensuring that the automation systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry regulations.
- The ideal candidate will have a extensive background in automation, programming, and computerized system validation within a pharmaceutical or related environment.
Responsibilities
Automation System Development:
- Design and implement automation solutions for various pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
- Evaluate and select appropriate hardware and software tools for automation projects.
Programming and Configuration:
- Develop and maintain PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and other automation control systems.
- Write and debug software programs and scripts to optimize automation processes.
System Integration:
- Integrate various automation systems with existing manufacturing systems and ensure interoperability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Quality, and Production to ensure seamless integration.
Validation and Compliance:
- Prepare SDLC and validation protocols for automation systems to ensure compliance with FDA, cGMP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records as required by regulatory standards.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Monitor automation systems for performance and reliability; troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades to automation systems to enhance functionality and compliance.
Project Management:
- Manage automation projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to manufacturing personnel on the use of automation systems.
- Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting and technical support related to automation systems.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in automation.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and advancements in automation within the pharmaceutical sector.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field).
- Minimum of 3-5 experience in automation system engineering in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in automation software platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Wonderware and OSI PI.
- Relevant certifications in automation (e.g., Certified Automation Professional, Six Sigma)
