Job Scope:

  • Analyze Source and Target system data models
  • Design Data Mapping to establish transformation rules between source and target
  • Test and verify ETL jobs
  • Perform Reconciliation and Exceptions reporting
  • To liaise with client for clarification and understanding of data migration requirements
  • Work with developers and leads to analyse, design and test data migration programs
  • Provide client assistance during User Acceptance Test and data verification process
  • Co-ordinate data migration activities with business user to ensure completeness of data transferred
  • Report on data migration activities to the client at project management meetings
  • Assist in design and validation of services for data migration in a microservices architecture
  • Meticulous nature to verify migrated data and perform reconciliation
  • Identify, define, collate, document and communicate the data migration requirements
  • Take ownership of design, development and testing of all data extract, transform and load (ETL) activities
  • Working with the project team to ensure that all ongoing data transformation, de-duplication, extraction and load functions once ready for production deployment are documented in detailed data lineage models
  • Work with data owners to verify and obtain approval that any transformed data retains its quality/accuracy
  • Ensure that any key fields and social care/business rules relied upon as part of any ongoing ETL or de-duplication are conveyed clearly to the project team/stakeholders
  • Own the reject and exception handling processes associated with ETL tools
  • Execute one off data migration jobs as required, including testing
  • Work closely with the database administrator to quantify ETL processing impact on databases and assist in performance tuning
  • Resolve as required ETL exceptions
  • Develop specifications for legacy system suppliers and play a role in the contract negotiations
  • Develop best practice, processes, and standards for effectively carrying out data migration activities
  • Prepare data migration plans including migration risk, milestones, quality and business sign-off details
  • Manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts as part of the data migration plan

Job Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5 or more years of experience in Data migration planning, extraction, transformation and loading
  • Solid experience required in data migration and cut-over strategies
  • Experience in designing Logical Data Model, Data Mapping Specifications
  • Experiencce in Oracle Database, MS SQL,
  • Working knowledge in AWS Glue, Python
