Freight Procurement Manager
Job scope
This role will engage in global transportation contract negotiations with ocean carriers and freight forwarders and requires communicating effectively with internal sales teams, manufacturing partners, and external service providers to establish agreements, SOPs, and manage all freight-related matters.
Additionally, the role involves setting KPIs, conducting data analysis, and performing market research as part of daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead annual negotiations for ocean and air freight contracts
Maintain daily communication with internal and external stakeholders
Compile and present monthly reports on volume tonnage, KPIs, and performance evaluations
Conduct comprehensive shipping market analyses
Develop operational solutions and implement cost-saving initiatives
Supervise and mentor a team; ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development.
Requirements
Proven experience and expertise in shipping and logistics with at least 5 years' experience in
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Mature, honest, self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills
Willingness to travel and work irregular hours as needed.
