Role Overview:
The candidate will be responsible for managing the Bank's critical Mainframe Batch and Console Operations for Production (PROD), Development (DEV), and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Route job listings to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the Development Environment (DEV) for troubleshooting.
  • Monitor and respond to System and Batch Console Messages for abnormalities.
  • Restart Customer Information Control System (CICS) and IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler (OPC) subsystems.
  • Re-run, Bypass, Hold, Prioritize, or Cancel batch jobs in OPC (Operations Planning and Control).
  • Schedule batch jobs via OPC.
  • Monitor resource contention (e.g., dataset and tape usage for batch jobs).
  • Download new configuration items to Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).
  • Monitor ATM Partner Links.
  • Start/Stop batch initiators to manage concurrency during operational hours.
  • Restore End-of-Shift (EOS) reports as per business user instructions.
  • Archive job listings to Tape Resources.
  • Perform daily start-up of DR Environment to verify DR replicated images from Production.
  • Escalate to SMEs or the Command Center for Batch Job Failures or missed Critical Checkpoint Jobs.
  • Conduct regular infrastructure and application health checks.
  • Monitor System Resources (e.g., JES Pool, CPU Utilization, CICS Max Tasks, Long-Running Transactions, and Jobs).
  • Generate System Monitoring Reports.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with mainframe batch job scheduling and console operations.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Z-series, JCL, CICS, and OPC/TWS.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for batch job failures and system performance issues.
  • Knowledge of ATM monitoring and configuration would be good to have.
  • Willing to work on a rotating shift schedule.
