Technical Scope



1. Process and Engineering Knowledge:

  • Provide expertise on process operations and contribute to updating process reference documentation, including process descriptions, PFDs, and P&IDs.
  • Perform engineering calculations and prepare equipment data sheets to support the Operations and Technical Service departments through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Participate in technical evaluations for vendor selection.
  • Identify and understand bottlenecks within the assigned sector.
  • Conduct material, utility, and thermal balance calculations.


2. Technical Assistance:

  • Analyze and assist in troubleshooting process issues.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports, including energy consumption and environmental losses.
  • Monitor and enhance unit performance in terms of reliability, efficiency (including energy efficiency), and variable costs.


3. Process Safety:

  • Lead HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies.
  • Update Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) documentation and participate in safety reviews for new projects.
  • Conduct scenario calculations using available tools.
  • Oversee process modifications to enhance health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance.


4. Process Development:

  • Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives in collaboration with R&D.
  • Define and oversee industrial tests.
  • For investment projects, specify basic process data, design process equipment (prepare process data sheets), review and provide feedback on PFDs & P&IDs, contribute to detailed engineering studies, and support start-up activities.

Health, Safety, Environment, Quality (HSEQ) & Management Systems

  • Promote the company's EHSQ policies and requirements.
  • Promptly report any incidents, accidents, or near misses to the HSE department.

Leadership

  • Mentor and train new employees (e.g., junior process engineers, production staff) within their area of expertise.
  • Take the lead on process-related topics.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in chemical plant process engineering.
