Responsibilities:

  • A pivotal role in ensuring that all operations comply with both regulatory and internal safety standards.
  • Risk Assessment and Control: Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate potential hazards.
  • EHS Procedures: Develop, implement, and update Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) control procedures as required.
  • Training and Education: Design and deliver training programs to educate staff on EHS protocols and best practices.
  • Equipment Management: Coordinate the procurement, supply, and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and personal monitoring devices.
  • Occupational Health Surveillance: Manage occupational health programs to monitor and promote employee well-being.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents or near-misses and generate comprehensive reports to prevent recurrence.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and controlled documents.
  • Process Safety Management: Lead Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews (PSSR) and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies to identify and mitigate process-related risks.
  • Contractor Safety Oversight: Manage contractor safety programs, including prequalification, safety audits, and compliance with safety protocols.
  • EHS Data Analysis: Collect and analyze safety performance indicators to inform continuous improvement initiatives.



Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering or science.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing EHS (preferably in the pharmaceutical or chemical industries).
  • Proficient in local regulatory requirements and good industry practices.
  • Effective in working in a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
