We are seeking a Senior Purchaser from the shipping/maritime industry with a good background in procurement, vendor management, and supply chain optimization to contribute to our mission of excellence in maritime operations.
Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with the goals and objectives of our naval/maritime operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of materials and services.
  2. Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers and service providers capable of meeting the specialized requirements of the naval/maritime industry, fostering strategic partnerships to enhance supply chain resilience.
  3. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with vendors, subcontractors, and service providers, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards while maximizing value for the organization.
  4. Sourcing Excellence: Conduct market analysis and supplier assessments to identify sourcing opportunities and potential risks, implementing measures to mitigate supply chain disruptions and ensure continuity of operations.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry standards governing procurement activities in the naval/maritime sector, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, certifications, and quality assurance protocols.
  6. Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate vendor performance and service quality, monitoring metrics such as on-time delivery, product quality, and cost efficiency to drive continuous improvement.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including engineering, logistics, finance, and operations teams, to align procurement activities with project requirements and operational needs.


Requirements:

  1. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management roles within the naval/maritime industry or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of the naval/maritime industry, including familiarity with naval vessel construction, ship repair, maritime logistics, and related supply chain dynamics.
  3. Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
