Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and test plans for projects or programs.
Define the scope, objectives, and deliverables of all testing activities.
Identify and allocate necessary resources, including personnel, tools, and environments for testing.
Estimate effort, timelines, and costs associated with testing activities.
Lead and manage testing teams, including internal and external members across various locations.
Assign tasks based on team members' skills and expertise.
Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and overall performance.
Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
Define, implement, and enforce testing processes, standards, and best practices.
Continuously improve testing methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Oversee the execution of test cases, including functional, regression, connectivity, system integration, and user acceptance testing.
Ensure alignment of testing activities with project requirements and schedules.
Monitor and manage defects by ensuring proper logging, tracking, and timely resolution.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all testing-related communications.
Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues to project managers, developers, and other stakeholders.
Provide regular status reports and performance metrics to senior management.
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to testing activities, including developing contingency plans for critical scenarios.
Promote the adoption of test automation to improve efficiency and coverage.
Collaborate with automation teams to oversee the development and maintenance of automated test scripts.
Ensure testing activities comply with organizational quality standards.
Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement preventive measures.
Promote a culture of quality and accountability within the testing team.
Manage the testing budget, including tooling, training, and resource allocation.
Optimize resource utilization to ensure cost-effective testing operations.
Plan for future resource needs in line with project pipelines and organizational growth.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide visibility into testing progress and outcomes.
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as test coverage, defect density, and execution rates.
Utilize data-driven insights to improve testing processes and results.
Ensure thorough documentation and auditability of all testing activities.
Maintain a repository of test artifacts including plans, cases, and results.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and organizational requirements.
Job Requirements
Good leadership and team management abilities.
In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, DevOps), with particular expertise in Waterfall.
Proficiency in test management tools such as JIRA.
Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Analytical mindset focused on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Relevant certifications such as ISTQB Advanced Level, PMP, or Agile certifications.
