Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ethics & legal compliance managing counsel (attorney) to join its growing Ethics & Legal Compliance Group as a Regional Ethics & Legal Compliance & Investigation Managing Counsel. This position will report directly to company's Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer and be based in Singapore. The individual must have a passion for ethics & compliance issues and have uncompromising integrity.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for, among other things,

  • Directly managing the company's ethics & legal compliance issues in the South/Southeast Asia region, including Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Thailand, Philippines, among other countries, and overseeing ethics & compliance issues in China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong
  • Primary responsibility for managing and leading ethics & legal compliance investigations, and coordinating with other investigation groups in establishing and maintaining a worldwide investigation process
  • Managing other team members with primary responsibility for the company's anti-corruption and conflicts of interest programs
  • Developing and delivering training on anti-corruption, privacy, antitrust, trade compliance, conflicts of interest, raising issues, and other ethics & compliance topics
  • Conducting regional and country by country risk assessments
  • In general, assisting with developing processes & procedures for ethics & compliance programs



Requirements:

  • Be an attorney in active status and in good standing
  • Have at least 7-10 years of in-house experience at a major technology company serving as an ethics & compliance counsel, with at least 3 years of experience conducting internal investigations. Litigators at a major law firm with similar years of experience, with a focus on white collar crime or internal investigations will also be considered
  • Possess superb analytical skills
  • Have the ability to work independently, and be able to problem solve an issue and develop creative solutions
  • Have uncompromising integrity & a passion for ethics & legal compliance issues
  • Have a deep understanding of worldwide anti-corruption laws
  • Possess superb investigation skills; ability to run a cross-geo investigation with little or no oversight
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
